Line-up

Enseignants, Groupes, Dj, etc.., ils sont au programme de notre événement.

Frida Segerdahl

Frida Segerdahl

Enseignant

Frida has been dancing since her early childhood. Her very first dance interest was Swedish folk dances and Swedish Bugg and later moved on to Boogie Woogie. She also attended a three year dance dance high school focusing on modern and contemporary jazz dance and ballet. Training and competing brought her to Herräng Dance Camp where she was exposed to Lindy hop on the social dance floor for the first time and she fell head over heels in love with the music and the dance, finding a freedom of expression she had never felt before. From that point she was hooked and has never looked back. She joined the performance group The Rhythm Hot Shots, now known as The Hot Shots, a celebration of Harlem rhythms, for 15 years.

There she got the possibility to work hard, learning and performing a broad spectrum of the African American dances she loves such as Lindy Hop, solo jazz, charleston and tap. She feels incredibly happy and humble that she has had the opportunity to travel the world performing, teaching, competing and sharing her passion for this artform for the last 20 years.

Skye Humphries

Enseignant

Skye Humphries was first persuaded to dance Lindy Hop by his mother in 1996, but quickly discovered his own love of social dancing, swing music and the Lindy Hop community. This led him to a wider interest in dance and he took classes in ballet, modern, and Jazz. Since 1999 he has taught wherever Lindy Hop is done – from national weekends to international dance camps. He is a founding member of some the most influential modern Lindy Hop troupes- including Minnie’s Moochers, Mad Dog, and the Silver Shadows.

Skye has also won titles at all of the major Lindy Hop competitions – including ULHS, ILHC, ALHC and the World Lindy Hop Championships. This involvement with Lindy Hop sparked his wider interest in America’s history and cultural heritage- leading him to pursue American Studies at The George Washington University where he received his master’s degree in 2007.

Elze Visnevskyte

Elze Visnevskyte

Enseignant

Elze Visnevskyte is a professional dancer, choreographer and educator from Vilnius, Lithuania. She has been traveling to teach and perform around a world for more than 10 years now. She is growing a local scene in Vilnius where she is one of the owners of What a Jazz dance studio. Her influence is incredible not only locally but internationally. Peter Kertz

Enseignant

Peter Kertz began dancing the Lindy Hop in Los Angeles, where he was born and raised. Following his passion for dance, he started to travel the world to discover international swing dance scene. In 2012, Peter moved to France and began teaching around Europe. In his opinion, To him, dance is as a language without words, bringing people together, connecting them both literally and figuratively across all walks of life.

Vassiliki Papadopoulou

Vassiliki Papadopoulou

Enseignant

Vassiliki Papadopoulou has been dancing since she was 8 years old, starting with classical ballet for 7 years, followed by contemporary, ballroom and Latin dances. At the age of 19, she found her passion in Lindy Hop and Vernacular Jazz which charmed her with the energy and creativity that characterises them.

Since then, she has been dancing systematically, having attended workshops in Greece and abroad. She loves competing and performing. Lindy Hop and Authentic Jazz gives her joy, energy, freedom, and in it she found a way of expression and a source of inspiration. She is currently teaching and being part of the chorus line and performance group of Rhythm Hoppers, in her hometown Athens.

Viktor Lillard

Enseignant

Dance and movement have always been important to Viktor. He grew up dancing socially with friends in his hometown in upstate New York. After discovering Lindy Hop and Authentic Jazz dance in Ohio in 2013, he has only fallen more deeply in love with Jazz as time goes on. Over the years dance has taken him where he never dreamed he would go, and the varied influences he discovered have helped him develop a unique flavor to his dance. He loves to spread the joy of dance within a comprehensive experience of jazz music, and is continually studying Jazz’s profound history and cultural roots in a continuum of Black American social dance.

Viktor has taught classes and workshops on three continents, and continues to travel to teach. He uses his musical knowledge and his thoughtful creative outlook to help students both become comfortable in their basics and expand their boundaries. Above all, he absolutely loves to share his musical and flowing style of swing on the social floor, and he encourages all dancers to feel the music and have fun!

Aurélien Darbellay

Aurélien Darbellay

Enseignant

Born and raised in Switzerland, I discovered Lindy Hop in my twenties, in Barcelona. From an early stage in my formation, I was lucky enough to have enthousiastic and talented teachers (mainly, Gustav Jakobsson and Héctor Artal), who passed on to me the joy of dance and the desire of constant improvement. Then, over the years, slowly but steadily, my love for this dance and the music it is danced to kept growing. Nowadays, I train, teach and social dance everyday.

I grew up in a musician family. I started playing the violin at the age of 4 and the saxophone some years later. Music is home to me. Accordingly, my favourite thing about swing dancing is how it allows using one's body to interpret and feel the music. I work hard to be able to vary the way I bounce, the stretch I ask for, and my feet variations so that I can express as freely as possible the way swing music makes me feel.

María and I started dancing together a bit more than two years ago. We train with passion on a daily basis, working on our connection, creating routines for our students and ourselves, and searching for new steps. Together, we've been teaching Lindy Hop in Berlin, Barcelona and Geneva, my home town. In Geneva, we also created (with friends) G-swing (g-swing.ch), an association promoting swing dancing in the area, which organizes monthly workshops and a yearly international festival, the shaKe that laKe.

ESDC 2015 was our first international competition. We were awarded the 2nd prize in the Open Classic Showcase Division for our routine danced to Catherine Russell's rendition of the Darktown Strutters' Ball. I myself won the 2nd prize in the Open Jack'n'Jill Division.

The Octopussy

The Octopussy
The Rhythm Outlines

The Rhythm Outlines
